National Science Centre (NCN) Scholarship

NCN is a government agency, supervised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, set up in 2011 to support basic research in Poland. Basic research is defined as experimental or theoretical endeavours undertaken to gain new knowledge of the foundations of phenomena and observable facts, without any direct commercial use. The NCN has set up 11 types of funding schemes dedicated to researchers at different stages of their career. One of the priorities of the Centre is to support and develop the scientific careers of pre-doctoral and doctoral researchers about to embark on a career in research. For this group of researchers the Centre has specifically designed funding schemes such as PRELUDIUM and ETIUDA at those individuals without a PhD degree, and SONATA and FUGA, for researchers holding a doctoral degree.

Deadlines:

PRELUDIUM: middle of June each year

ETIUDA: middle of March each year

SONATA: middle of June each year

FUGA: middle of March each year

Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship

Individual Fellowships provide opportunities to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research and innovation in a European context (EU Member States and Associated Countries) or outside Europe. The scheme particularly supports the return and reintegration of researchers from outside Europe who have previously worked here. It also develops or helps to restart the careers of individual researchers that show great potential, considering their experience. Support is foreseen for individual, trans-national fellowships awarded to the best or most promising researchers of any nationality, for employment in EU Member States or Associated Countries. It is based on an application made jointly by the researcher and the beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sectors.

Deadline: middle of September each year
